VR: The New Frontier

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Ever watch a 360 degree concert from your couch? Or dreamed of being transported back in time to see The Beatles play a legendary gig at the now-demolished Shea Stadium in New York City? With advances in augmented and virtual reality technologies, these experiences are about to become mainstream. AR and VR will soon represent a very important income for the music industry. Revenues from advertising, membership subscriptions and pay-per-view are possible. There may be some growing pains along with way as technology improvements are made and the demand for lighter, smaller, cheaper more comfortable headsets increases. Today’s session brings together executives from the VR technologies with executives from the music companies to highlight some of these well-executed partnerships to date. The group will discuss the current state of consumer adoption and anticipate what the future may hold for this new entertainment format. Time will be set aside for attendees to experience the power of VR for themselves.
