Kele Currier

ASCAP
Senior Director Of Strategic Services
kcurrier@ascap.com

Kele Currier’s twenty-four years in the business side of music began in SESAC’s broadcast administration department. This led to a career in publishing administration, licensing and royalty collection with Maypop Music Group, Alabama Band’s music publishing company, Opryland Music Group (formerly Acuff Rose) and, Integrated Copyright Group. These early experiences shaped her resolve to maximize the value of songwriter and publisher’s intellectual property rights by proactively licensing and monetizing their music.

In 2006, Kele was part of the team recruited to open Big Loud Bucks, an administration arm of Craig Wiseman’s publishing company, Big Loud Shirt. Kele went on to serve as Executive Vice President with Big Loud Bucks where she oversaw the administration staff and recruited administration clients. Following this, she joined ole Music Publishing as Director of Administration. At ole, Kele led the U.S administration presence for their Toronto-based offices and managed and negotiated all synchronization deals for ole and their clients.

Kele’s path led her full circle, back to a performing rights organization in 2013, where she is currently part of the ASCAP membership team, serving as Senior Director of Strategic Services. In her current role, she heads key distribution projects for the Country and Christian genres and addresses high-level membership issues for the Nashville office. Kele has served on boards for The Copyright Society of the South, SOURCE and currently serves as a board member for the Academy of Country Music. She is a member of the Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP), Country Music Association (CMA), Gospel Music Association (GMA) and is a graduate of Leadership Music (Class of 2014).
