Chris Harrison is the Chief Executive Officer of the Digital Media Association, which represents the legal and policy interests of leading online distributors of digital music, movies and books including Amazon, Apple, Google, Microsoft, Napster, Pandora, and Spotify. Prior to his current role, Harrison has been the lead in-house lawyer/executive at companies successfully navigating complex music licensing issues among music publishers, record labels and their collective licensing organizations. A recognized expert on music copyright and antitrust issues, Chris has twice testified before Congress (“Music Licensing Under Section 17,” House Committee on the Judiciary, Subcommittee on Intellectual Property, June 25, 2014; How Much For a Song?: The Antitrust Decrees that Govern the Market for Music” Senate Committee on the Judiciary, Subcommittee on Antitrust, Competition Policy and Consumer Rights, March 10, 2015) and was recently named one of the top music lawyers by Billboard magazine.
