Jacqueline Charlesworth is Of Counsel at the law firm Covington & Burling, where she practices intellectual property law with an emphasis on music copyright issues. Before joining Covington’s New York office, she served as General Counsel & Associate Register of Copyrights at the U.S. Copyright Office in Washington, D.C. While at the Copyright Office, Charlesworth had primary responsibility for interpretation of the U.S. Copyright Act and oversaw a wide range of litigation, legislative, regulatory, and policy matters. Before joining the Copyright Office, she was in private practice, where she handled IP-related litigation and transactional matters. Prior to that, she served as SVP & General Counsel of the National Music Publishers’ Association (NMPA) and SVP & General Counsel of The Harry Fox Agency.
