Julia Massimino

VP of Global Public Policy
Julia Massimino is the VP of Global Public Policy for SoundExchange. Responsible for leading the organization’s public policy and government affairs activities, Massimino supervises legislative advocacy and guides overall policy strategy. Prior to joining SoundExchange, Massimino spent more than a dozen years working in Congress. Most recently, she served four years as Chief of Staff to Rep. Howard Berman (D-Los Angeles), a strong supporter of the rights of music creators who was chairman of both the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property and the Internet and the House Committee on Foreign Affairs. Massimino had previously worked in Berman’s office as his Chief Counsel on Judiciary and Labor matters. Before returning to Berman’s office as Chief of Staff, Massimino served as Majority Counsel on House Judiciary Committee, Subcommittee on Courts, the Internet, and Intellectual Property and as a special counsel to Rep. William Delahunt (D-MA). She brings a wealth of experience on a wide-range of public policy issues, as well as expertise in the legislative process, advocacy, and coalition building.
